Re: T 3 HEADLIGHTS (1972)
(1) Read the ads in Driveline.
(2) Go walk your local scrapyards until you find another 1972 GM passenger car that still has its original lamps installed.
On #1, figure you'll pay $5-40 per bulb depending on source and condition. On #2, figure you'll pay $1-3, but it's your time/labor to scout.- Top

Re: T 3 HEADLIGHTS (1972)
I bought a full set of NOS from Grossmuellers in Phillipsburg, NJ a year ago. Seems they found a stash. Problem is, most of them burned out right away or after a few uses. I think 30 year old NOS headlights are not very reliable if you are worried about operations.- Top

Re: T 3 HEADLIGHTS (1972)
At the West Coast Regional, it was suggested to add some silicon around the original seal in the back to add some insurance against air leakage. I hadn't heard of that before and I have over 6k on my junkyard T3's without a problem. Vibration causes them to lose there seal and allow air in, I'm thinking of giving it a shot can't hurt.

Re: T 3 HEADLIGHTS (1972)
How close are the T3's from Lectric Limited to the originals?
What kind of point deduct can one expect?

Re: T 3 HEADLIGHTS (1972)
Humm I would think so from what I learned last weekend, like tires, original mfg later replacement, might be as much as half. It was suggested for PV to use new lamps because they aren't judged they just have to work.

Deduction
At a chapter meet I lost 2 points for the T3's from Lectric. I thought it would be 4 points 1 for each headlight. Replaced them with orignals for the National. No deduction on them. If the orignals were not in good shape you could lose as much or more condition points. Mike- Top
