    C3(72)caps for a/c compressor fittings

Could some one tell me were I could find the little metal caps that go on the compressor fitting & muffler asm?
    Thank you.

    Rob:
If they are the same as on my '69 you can get them from Long Island Corvette Supply. I purchased some from them several years ago. The mid-years caps were the same (assuming yours were metal and not plastic). Also, I'm sure you could find some at a scrap yard on late 60's GM cars. Hope this helps.

      Jeff,

Are the ones on your 69 the brass "acorn" style?

They should be for a 72, and the 69 JG states "aluminum hexagonal caps."
I can assure you that the late 71 set I have is brass. The 70-72 JG states "tin plated brass" but I don't see much evidence of any tin plating still present on mine.

The round knurled style are available at almost any auto parts store. If Long Island has the acorn style, in any plating, I'd be interested to know.

For 1973, the caps were brass acorn nuts. I have found four or so in the local junkyards.

            Patrick:
The caps on mine are cadmium plated brass. The may have been aluminum originally but I plated the brass ones from LI Corvette Supply and they matched the 1 original I had perfectly. By the way, these are "acorn" style nuts but are not like any you can buy for a fastener supply house.
