62 headlamp sub-body to body fasteners

Not that it really matters since they are not visible (but I do care) are the fasteners that hold the headlamp sub assembly to the body, clutch or phillips? I have what I believe is one side that has never been touched with phillips. The other side was in a smashup and the fasteners are somewhat mixed (but no clutch). The reason I question this is that Paragon sells a kit that has clutch screws.

Which is correct? And if Phillips is correct is there an easy source?

    Thanks, Chris

I know that on 60 cars that they were still clutch heads, but I am thinking that they had switched to Phillips by 62. But, I am no expert on 62 cars.

      Chris-

For what it's worth, here's the right corner of our '62 with the trimring off. The car's never been hit and (between 1970 and now) was only apart for repaint in 2000.

Thanks Rob, look just like mine. Think I will take one of my good screws to HD or Lowes and see what they have.

Chris--the change from clutch-head to Phillips happened as a running change during 1962--but that's an item we've never really tried to pin down in the judging manual. I kow it happened after #2266 and before #14445, but I can't tell you much more than that. It's like the screws that tightened the brass barrells to the hood release cables. Those changed from clutch head some time after #3390--but again, we haven't pinned that down entirely.

Mike, my 2654 looks like it has original phillips on it. So it fits the after 2266. Any idea what is a good replacement phillips? Plan on hitting Lowes.
