Seeing so many wiper arms with "TRICO MADE IN USA" on ebay lately, I wanted to double-check that originals do, in fact say "TRICO" only...

Pete Lindalh: Can you clarify?
Rob,
I checked in the archives and Pete Lindalh has posted on this topic. I believe he said that 3 or 4 different versions of the peaked Trico holder existed for '67. I'm not sure if the same holds true for late '66. I know late '66 also used the peaked Trico blade holders, but I don't know if the MADE IN USA version was acceptable for '66 as it might have been for '67. I've alwyas been under the impression that the MADE IN USA was not acceptable for '66 and this is in agreement with the latest '66 TIM&JG. Hopefully, Pete will clarify this for us.

Re: Pete Lindahl: Can you clarify?
Gary/Rob - My experience from observations on "known" original cars (Corvettes, Chevelles, Chevrolets and others that used the 15" w/s/w holders) and junkyarding is that up thru early calendar year 1967 which includes 1966 and early 1967 production, I would expect to find the peaked shaped top (brushed finish) TRICO w/s/w holders that only have TRICO stamped on the ends. NOTE: I have seen some of the flat topped brushed (early 1966 production) TRICO w/s/w holders with only one end stamped TRICO and some with no TRICO stampings. Sometime early in the 1967 calendar year the TRICO w/s/w holders with one end stamped TRICO and the other end stamped TRICO and MADE IN USA appeared. I suspect this was to use up excess production of the TRICO only pieces as production changed over to the pieces stamped TRICO and MADE IN USA and to confuse the '67 Corvette judges and restorers. Evidence is convincing that the transition to TRICO w/s/w holders stamped with TRICO and MADE IN USA ocurred in the 1967 calendar years because 1968 cars with TRICO w/s/w holders are stamped TRICO and MADE IN USA. Re: Pete Lindahl: Can you clarify?
Pete, I have a set of blade holders that are marked as follows:
1. "TRICO MADE IN USA" on both ends.
2. "TRICO" on one end: "TRICO MADE IN USA" on the other end.
Both carry the same info on the arm "clip" as follows:
PAT.2762626
2807722
3056160
CAN.63
Are these correct for a late C2 67???
Thanks- Top
