C2 Magic - Check This Out

I've been driving around on my original '63 wheels and wheel covers for decades - literally. I'm starting to get the retro itch, it's time for new tires anyway, and I'm wondering how my car would look with a set of American Racing Wheel Torq-Thrust D's on it. I've been all over the Web trying to get some idea how it would look.

Then it struck me. I drove my car out front and took a picture. Then I went to a Web site that sells these wheels and borrowed their image. I changed the background from white to black, cropped it a bit, and morphed it onto the picture of my car. I had do a little fooling around like paint out the white wall. But I left the back wheel untouched for a comparison.

So whadya think? Is imaging technology cool or what? And I'm really liking those wheels too!

I like the look too!

My '67 has seen KH bolt-on's, rally wheels and also these torq thrusts. I like them.

I picked up a set of original AR Torque thrusts for my Marlboro Maroon '67 project from my old neighbor who had them on his '65 396 car, although after seeing a '67 with a new set of polished 17 inch ones, I'm tempted to get a set of those instead

Scott, You were lucky. I just missed an original set of AR TT's at the Orlando meet 3-4 years ago. I ended up getting new ones made by PS Engineering in California - 6x15 polished outers with natural spokes and shallow AR center caps.

Yes, I didn't realize it at the time, but I understand they go for a fair amount of money. BTW, what size tires are you running on them?

I think they were about $1500 and the tires 215-65-15 Eagle GA's.

I forgot to mention..

Those spinners really set it off. Do they just screw onto the rim like the regular caps?

Yes, those are AR "Carlisle" spinners and mount the same as the caps that came with the Torq Thrust wheels.

What did you use to get those rims so shinny, I wish mine mine were that polished looking.

I use Mothers Billet Metal Polish for billet, forged and finely cast aluminum, brass, gold and other polishable metals. It is not recommended for chrome, suggesting to me a chemical composition that is more suited to softer surfaces.

Jim - You might be the one who got me started on this. I think you posted a pic of your '67 vert a while back - and that caught my attention. But I couldn't find the image again!

and it works great, these old AR TT's are polishing right up very nice.
