What are the identifying features of a water pump pulley for 1960 Corvette?(how deep, diameter, etc.) I know I have the correct crank pulley(3756328). The water pump pulley I have looks like those in several parts catalogs, but it does not line up with the crank pulley. I did install the spacer behind the harmonic balancer to compensate for the thickness of the motor mount bracket sandwiched between the block and water pump. Is it common to have to repress the water pump hub in order for the pulleys to align properly? It is a new water pump. Any insight or suggestions appreciated.

The correct pulley for your application is GM #3724816. That number was stamped on original pullies, so that should make it easy to identify it. Otherwise, this is a single groove pulley of 7-5/32" OD. It has a cone-shaped hat section.
The above-referenced pulley requires reinforcement GM #3720616 to be installed between the pulley and the waterpump hub. So, if you're not doing that, it could be the cause of the alignment problem.
It is sometimes necessary to adjust the waterpump hub if you can't achieve correct pulley alignment with known-correct pullies and pulley system. That's because there were a few slightly different hub spacings used for short leg 1955-70 small block waterpumps. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
