    C1 thermostat housing

I have a cast iron thermostat housing with the number 3827370.

    Can someone identify it?

    Thank you,

    Verle-----

GM #3827370 was used for 1963-65 Corvettes with L-76 and L-84. It was discontinued quite a few years ago and is difficult to locate. Reproductions of this part are manufactured, for some reason or another, in cast stainless steel and are, consequently, not like the originals.

Actually, since these housings were used only on Corvettes with aluminum manifolds and since they were always painted with aluminum paint for such applications, perhaps the stainless reproductions aren't a bad idea, after all.
