I removed all of my old clutch components and discovered that the clutch disc was new, the release bearing was new but everything else was old. The fingers on the pressure plate where the release bearing contact were worn to a point. The pilot bearing was very worn. The clutch fork boot had been installed incorrectly. I have some questions that I hope some of you can answer for me. 1. The end-to-end length of the new clutch fork ball stud is different than the old one. new - 1.48" : old - 1.366" Is this acceptable?
2. What is the torque to install the clutch fork ball stud? (Can't find this specification anywhere).
3. What kind of lubricant should be put on the clucth fork ball stud, the release bearing, etc. Are there new lubricants (eg. synthetic that are better than old ones.)
4. Thanks for recommending that I replace the clutch components while I had everything apart. Bill
