66 Spare Tire

I pulled the spare tire out yeaterday just so see if it still had air. It has been close to 20 yrs since it has been removed.
This is the same spare that was in there when I purchased the car 36 years ago. It is a Dayton 775/15 bias ply tire with no DOT markings. It still had some air in it but I would never ever use it.
I doubt if it is original but it should be period correct.
My question is
Did Corvette ever use Dayton tires as OE
