    1119515 voltage regulator 6H

Would this date be correct for a July '66 car. I am a little confused about how the date codes are read.

Sorry for all the posts but it has been a very busy day for parts removal from my car!

    Thanks,

    Ian

          Re: rear differential cases

I'm confused--how did the thread change from a voltage regulator to diffential cases?
And, more importantly, what years was "I" not used in electrical parts? I think that differentiation has generally been that cast parts utilized an I, stamped parts did not. (With deference to Flint stamping on blocks where the "I" was used as a "1" on the assembly stamped code on the pad)

Reverend, Stevie Wonder can see that I am confused. To my knowledge "I" was not used on any electrical component 63-72. C-1's my knowledge is very limited, like that your left knee stays bruised from the LH door pillar, if you hand slips off the shifter going to third gear ya leave skin on the heater knobs, you can stay drier driving in the rain if you let the top down, etc. And that comes from owning one over 40 years ago.

              Dickie,
How can a guy as short as you bump your knee on the left hand door pillar? I see that you have driven a solid-axle---the great thing about 61-62 is that they restyled the heater control knobs so that they were sharper and took a cleaner hunk of skin when your hand slipped off the shifter than the 58-60 did. AND--with the heater and defroster knobs pulled out, you don't even have to let your hand slip--you only need to shift with gusto to lose skin!!!

Reverend Mike. That was in 1962 and 1963 and I still have not forgotten the pain and agony of being 17-18 years old and HAVING to drive a Corvette. Such inhuman torture of a teenager. Should have reported my parents to Social Services like the kids threaten to do today.

Best part of that deal was the Corvette was bought originally by the father of one of my friends. He gave it to my friend. Times got tough in the poultry business and father needed a new truck. We had the IH dealership at that time in allowed him the great sum of $1,800 for the 1961 Corvette in December of 1962. His son, Eddie, never forgave me. Didn't get mad at his father though. He went on to buy Eddie a '32 Pontiac sedan with a 392" Chrysler Hemi and a 6-71 blower. Daddie named it "Little Mo" 'cause everytime he saw Eddie he needed a little mo money for the Pontiac

H is August; too late for a July 66 car

                  Ian,

I think if you contact John Pirkle he will recommend and be able to sell you a restored 6F 515 regulator.
