Does anyone know where I can get a PCV valve for a 61? Does anybody make a reproduction valve?

Re: C1 PCV Valve
The real PCV valve for that year was a Delco part number something-590-something. You'll never find a real one. But all the vendors sell the Delco service one that's close. Around $9. They're on EBay all the time too.- Top

Re: C1 PCV Valve
The optional PCV system for late C1's used a servicable screw together style with a hex shape for wrenches. I have managed to find this style (if not the exact part) at swap meets. Maybe a salvage yard with older stuff might prove fruitful. I installed one once that was a F..d part, but after placing the white paper stick-on ID tag, that covered the evidence... Bad Boy, Dennis Oh, by the way, if you find something close, make sure it is designed to flow the correct way. They make them both ways...- Top

Re: C1 PCV Valve
The only one I've ever found that had the original GM part number on it (not the 590CV which is actually a replacement/service valve, had a dark (black oxide?) hue to it. I don't believe that the cad/zinc plated finish is correct--I've studied old magazine road tests (done in California) and the appearance is a dark color.- Top

Re: Mike... Agree on the "black oxide" plating
Okay, not a C1, But my '63 uses a CV590C valve, and there is a clear picture of it in the owner's manual. It is black oxide with a distinct white paper label. I, like most, had the cad plated smooth bodied service replacement of the same part number on my car. Last year on eBay, I questioned every seller about the CV590C they were listing, and sure enough, I finally found one that said his was black. I got it for $9. What I received was the old valve that had been thrown back into the box after the new part had been installed. But after a thorough cleaning, the old part works (and looks) just perfect.
