Brake Line Clips on C3s

Greetings All! I am preparing to re-install all the various engine compartment items on my '74 as soon as the body is back from the paint shop. I have the original clips that hold the brake hard-lines onto the frame, but I don't know what color or finish they are supposed to be. Can anyone tell me what the original color and/or finish was on these hardline clips? Thanks in advance. I believe that these clips were natural steel and quickly rust in service.

I don't have the parts inventory that Joe has, but I bought some of these clips about ten years ago and they came packaged individually and I still have a few in GM packaging. They are steel and unfinished.

Thanks for the quick response, guys. I guess I'll have to figure out if I want originality and potential rust, or some type of clear coat or other paint for longer lasting good looks. Thanks again! Jeff
