    89 lumbar air pumps

Same car guys. Both seats have lumbar pumps. Both seats have lost the air pumps. This occurred at the same time as the failed brake light. Are they related? How do I trouble shoot the circuit on the lumbar seats?

    Steve----

I'm going to repeat something I've said many times before: if you're going to do any work, at all, on a Corvette besides just changing the oil, you need to have a factory service manual. This is especially true for C4s. For these cars, having the factory service manual is absolutely essential. The manual will lead you through the trouble shooting procedures for any of the car's systems.

These manuals are expensive, but think of all the money you can save by doing the work yourself. Just one small do-it-yourself repair will more than pay for the cost of the manual. By the same token, one ruined part caused by an ill-informed repair procedure may cost you WAY more than the price of the manual.

Also, keep another thing in mind: these manuals won't be in print forever. When they're no longer available, I don't think that you'll see any reprints come along any time soon, if ever. These manuals are not like the relatively simple manuals for pre-84 Corvettes. That's why they cost a lot more, too. C4 Corvettes are the most complicated Corvettes ever built and, likley, are the most complicated Corvettes that ever will be built.

Thanks for your advice Joe. I have had a manual for some time however it has not assisted me well with the current problem. I was seeking some help from someone who might have experienced a similar problem and might offer some insight on the problem.

        Steve-----

I'm very surprised that the manual doen't have a trouble-shooting procedure for this system or, at least, repair instructions. I've never had any experience with these pumps (my 92 doesn't have them).
