I noticed today on one tire some very small cracks in the side wall. the cracks are real small just in the part with the RWL should I replace the tire? is that just costmetic? are is the tire need replaced? thanks

Re: tires
I think it has been discussed that age has more to do with tire safty than any other factor regarding sudden tire failure. So, I would consider that. The other thing would be how you plan to drive on them. Without seeing them, it is hard to comment. Terry- Top

Re: tires
I think that you should err in the direction of safety. Your tires have started "dry rotting" as the cracks are indicating. Unless your usage of the car is strictly showing or speeds 35 mph or less, I would replace the tires. The consequences of a catastropic tire failure can be pretty severe. Are the tires over 7-8 years old? Ozone and sunlight are real enemies of tires. Do not store your car in a garage that allows sunlight to reach the tires or use covers to protect them.Dick Whittington- Top
