    81 Corvette Info/Bowtie

I just picked up an 81 Bowling Green Vette serial #8615. The car only has 15K Miles and is in excellent shape. Everything is there. Will this car be elidgible for bowtie next year? Can I flight judge it before Bow Tie? The car is Mahogany Metalic (IE Brown!) 4s, cloth camel seats, AM/FM Cassette, Power windows and locks. All the original paperwork is there including the window sticker. I am the 3rd owner the second bought it in 82 with 3.5K on the clock. It has been in AZ its whole life. Great car. Hows's the Judging Manual on this car? Eric #3,182.

    Color question

Does anyone know the quanitiy of each color car painted at Bowling Green for 81? The "Corvette - Black Book" only states color quantity for St Louis. The way I read all (or most) 2 tone cars were painted at B.G. There were 5,352 D84 cars (2 tone). There were 8,995 81s manufactured at B.G. So there must have been around 3,600 single tone cars painted at B.G. I am curious how many where Mahogany Metalic (code: 06)? Any thoughts????? Eric #3,182

Eric, Cograts, yes you may flight judge your car prior to the bow-tie judging. You should bring the car to a regional meet for judging, many of us would enjoy seeing your car. The Judging/Tech Reference Manual is excellent. You may purchase the 80-82 manual by contacting the NCRS home office (513-385-8526).

Thanks Chuck, I plan on having it judged at the Western Regional at Tahoe. I will be driving it up from Phoenix. After all what's a new Corvette (OK realatively new) for, but driving! Eric.
