I am working with a painter that uses Martin finishes and we cannot get a color match for a 58, Silver Blue (Dupont 2696) or Inca Silver (Dupont 2436). Does anyone know the Martin code for these finishes? Thanks in advance.

Re: errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! go the brakes
Ken,
Are you talking about paints from Napa auto parts? I looked up Martin on Google and this was my first site. If so, tell your painter to go to another source. If he's from a big shop, he'll probably have his own mixing station. If he's smaller like my painter, he'll have to outsource. We go to Colortone in the L.A. area out here in CA. They punch all the info in the computer and out comes the mixing sheet. If we call ahead of time, it's ready when we get there. Although uncommon, we are welcome to mix our own paints if we please, we've been going there for years. Colortone deals the BASF line: Glasurit, Diamont, Uno etc. I've never come across a color where we couldn't find the recipe. Sometimes the outcome needs to be tinted one way or another, but we have always found what we were looking for, Just my thoughts. Good luck!

Re: errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! go the brakes
Thanks Justin. This is a small shop but they specialize in show paint for cars and cycles and do great work. We did finally find the correct match. The problem was with the paint rep and he got help from the home office. I am not familiar with the paint brand but this shop says they have been using it for years and apparently get really good results. I have seen some of their work, hope mine comes out as good. Keeping my fingers crossed.- Top

Re: eeeeeeeeeeek! goes the parrot
Ken,
I hope so too. I do all my own prep work, lots of hours and sore fingers, so I can't compromise with the quality of paint my sprayer uses. He only uses Glasurit or Diamont, so I choose Glasurit. The 55 line is a great product, but make sure you use one product from start to finish. Glasurit primer and then Glasurit BC/CC etc. Good luck!
