67 327/350 fuel line to carb?

    Dear Members,

I took, what I thought was original carb, to be rebuilt. It was in a box of parts and hadn't looked at the numbers. It turns out not be a 3810, but an 1850-1. The guy said it is a 600 cfm with the fuel inlet on the driver's side of the carb similar to a 3810. I also have a current AC Delco fuel pump for a 67 that has the #'s 40503 near the base that is flush with block. On the other side #'s are 142 and with what looks like a clock dial with the # 01 in middle. I attach the fuel to pump as Tech. Guide explains and I'm wondering how the other end fits into the carb? Do I have to bend the hell out of it to make it work? Do I have the correct fuel pump? I am guessing I received the correct fuel line from Paragon. Thanks much!

As I recall, the 1850 uses a side inlet like the 2818 used in '64-65 rather than the inlet that points toward the front at a 45 degree angle. To use the 1850 you wold have to change the front float bowl.

      Justin,

I think you are going to have to cut the stock fuel line (if it's for a a 3810) and use flex fuel hose and an inline filter to fit it to an 1850. I don't believe (although not sure) that the 1850 has the Moraine filter fitting in the primary fuel bowl like the 3810. Attached is a photo of 3810 fuel bowls, the one on the right is the primary bowl.

The stock fuel line should screw right into the inlet nut which screws into the intergral filter canister on the fuel bowl.

Also, I'm not sure the generic 1850 has the vent hole in the top of the primary fuel bowl, so if you use a 3810 fuel bowl you'll probably have to plug the vent hole.

I believe the correct fuel pump P/N should be 6440433 with a service replacement being 6416509.
