I have a pair of 77 front spindles...I think I can use them if I drill the steering arm clearance holes..correct? Can I use hubs from any year 65-82 or is there a difference in the bolt circle diameter?...other issue? Will caliper mounting brackets from any year work?

If you are talking about using the 64 steering arms with the 77 spindles by drilling out the 64 steering arm-to-spindle attachment holes, I don't recommend that, at all. The forgings used for 63-67 were a lot less "beefy" than later and were not designed to support the 1/2" holes. You need to obtain a set of 69+ steering arms. These are not hard to find good used and are not too expensive, either. In fact, the 64 arms are worth far more so why try to drill out these, anyway? The best of the 69+ arms were those with forging numbers 465071 and 465072. These are, by far, the strongest. However, many of these have only 1 tie rod end hole (tapered hole) for power steering applications only since they were primarily used for later 77+ applications when power steering became standard on Corvettes.
As Dick mentioned, you have to use hubs (and, attached rotors) from 69 and later applications. The bolt circle diamter is the same for all Corvettes through 1982, but the bearing size changed in 1969 and the 77 spindles are designed for the larger (and, better) 69+ bearings.
The caliper mounting brackets for any 65-82 will work. However, once again, with the 65-67 caliper brackets you'd have to drill out one of the holes. Much better to just use the 68-82 brackets. These are FAR more common, FAR easier to find, and available in reproduction. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Disc Brakes for 64
Check frame clearance in the rear for the rear calipers, the frames had an indent to clear starting in '65, may not be an issue, but look for it before you find out it is.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Disc Brakes for 64
You may clear the frame, but you will not clear the bump stop or its mounting bracket. This has to be cut off to use the calipers on the rear. The '65 up trailing arm had the pad for the bump stop inset so that the stop could be mounted inboard to clear the calipers.- Top

Re: Disc Brakes for 64
If you use a power brake booster & later dual master cylinder with porportioning valve you either need drill news master cylinder mounting holes in the firewall to lower it for hood clearance or get a new thinner hood. Been there done that. Gary #5895....- Top
