    C-3 - Oil Dipstick tube

I'm preping my 350 block for a rebuild. How is the dipstick tube remove ? It protrudes about 1.75"(from rail) into the oil pan. I'm worried that I may twist/crush it.

    Thanks

    Jim-----

There are TWO dipstick tubes used for most 350 cid engines-----an upper and a lower. When you have the oil pan off, as you do if you're preparing for a rebuild, it's very easy to remove both tubes. Simply tap on the lower tube. This will drive out the upper tube, which is an interference fit in the block, and will allow you to remove the lower tube from the TOP. The lower tube is not an interference fit and, while it might be a little tight, you should be able to push it right out.
