    Drilling C3 Door Panel Holes....

I purchased some A/N door panels for my C3 (1976). I was able to put my original trim and wood grain insert in the panel, and
they too look great. Now for my quandary. There are
not any holes in the panels to screw them in!
I want it to look factory, so I guess I have to drill some holes and use the clips.

I had to take out (2) screws at the top. One near the
rear end of the door, and the other closer to the hinge end
of the door. Are these original positions? I don't
have a diagram to see which are original screw patterns. How many screws in a 1976 C3 Panel?

The clips are no problem, but there is a screw in the center of the
carpet part of my old door panel (see picture). It does not
look like it belongs there. Can you confirm that!

When drilling the new panels, can you lay the old one
over top the new and use a pen to mark the holes? Is
that the best way to mark the holes?

If you could PLEASE help me with this I would GREATLY
    appreciate it!

    Thanks!

    Chris

You are correct that the screw in the carpet does NOT belong. The two corner holes can be determined as you said, if you are very careful. I was always more successful in mounting the panel aligning to the holes in the door and drilling the holes.
