Very early Air Condition '63 coupe?

Here is a red '63 coupe VIN 30837S104622 that the owner claims is an original air conditioned '63, one of 278. Now I can see that the VIN is far too early for normal production, and some parts appear to be passenger car parts, but I guess it is always possible.

I knew a guy in the '70s, Bob Patterson of East Alton, IL, that had a red '63 coupe with air conditioning and fuel injection. I don't know if either was original to the car. I almost wonder if this might be that car, sans the FI.

While some will add AC to a car, it is so much work. I almost wonder if it is an Air car that has a different VIN now.

A lot of flags on this one.

haven't seen what i believed to be an orig 63 c-60 with a vin as low as this example but i've been unable to find a plastic surgeon of the class of 63 capable of removing the "fool" tatoo'd on my forehead.mike

You have a replacement engine out of a 73, A/c unit might be original to the engine but without documentation how can you tell if it is originally an A/C car?

Even if it was an original A/C car it would need a correct engine and dated A/c setup. Since there were only a couple of hundred A/C cars made that year finding a correctly dated A/C unit will be a challenge to say the least.

If you like the car buy it as a NOM 63 SWC and leave it at that all the rest is probably hype at best. It amazes me that someone can claim that this is an original A/C cpe when there is no engine, A/C, or documentation original to the car.

I agree with the crowd... very unlikely the A/C is correct, no documentation, wrong motor. The car is an NOM SWC that looks like a fun driver, and the buyer should not pay for anything beyond that.
