I am looking for a picture of a 1965 door with its interior doorpanel off. The original 1965 interior was replaced about twelve years ago (3,000 miles) with an original mint (still is!) 1967 interior out of a wrecked 67 (12E67 code on interior) with 25k miles. I finally have enough money to put back a 1965 interior. MY problem is that the hardware for the door locks/knobs were changed to fit the 1967 doorpanels. The drawings in different catalogs are not clear enough for me to see how they change back....and what parts I need to order . A photo would help ! Thanks ..Ed

Depends how the conversion was handled - the only parts affected would have been the remote control for the inside door lock knob and the locking rod from there to the door latch. The '65 rear-mounted inside lock knob used a different control and a locking rod direct to the door latch, and the '67 mid-mounted inside door lock used a different control, a rod from there back to a bellcrank near the rear of the door, and a locking rod from the bellcrank down to the door latch. If they didn't 'glass over the holes for the original remote control, you should be able to install the '65 remote control in its original location and the '65 locking rod from there to the door latch.- Top
