1965 Big Block Difference

I am going to look at a 1965 big block car. The owner claims it is an original 396
car but it does not have the original motor. Can anyone give me a quick education on what to look for to confirm if the car was indeed an original big block car.

Don, that was RPO RUonDrugs and was only on 2 cars. Very rare. I am still looking for the other one :-)

Also check the following.

Battery is on the left side with a access through a removal cover in inner fender skirt.

Check to see if the right side battery tray holes in the frame are tpped.

shot peened axle shafts,under hood wire loom,left &rt inner fenders,cowl clips,hood support,accelerator lever,rear axle codes,no steering stablizer,h.d. rear spindles , paper work ,"HISTORY",earlist vin I have is 12201......Bill
