I need to replace one of my wheels. I would like to find a good used OEM wheel rather than a new imported aftermarket model. Do any GM cars other than the 69-82 Corvettes use the 15X8 Rally Wheel? Thanks, Bill

Re: commonly used on hotrods in 1970's
When you go that way, I remember many on Chevelles and Monte Carlos. The factory Rally on them was only the 6 and 7 inch and many went to the 8 inch Corvette Rally. The data I have shows Chevelle as only having a 14 inch diameter and 6 inch width maximum through 1972. I remember a co-worker having 8 inch on a '73 El Camino SS but he may have put them on.
The Monte only had a max of 15x7 so the 8 inch on them has to be Corvette also.
Some trucks had a 15x8 Rally, but it is different than a Corvette Rally. But many put Corvette Rally wheels on trucks of all years if it had a 5 lug pattern.- Top

Re: C3 Rally Wheel
Bill------
No other GM car model ever used the "AZ" Corvette wheel. In fact, I don't think that any other GM car ever used a 15 X 8 wheel, let alone one of the "AZ" specs. However, a HUGE number of these things were sold during the last 35 years and they're not difficult to find. Just about any auto swap meet ought to have plenty for sale.
Also, the last time I checked, these wheels were still available from Hayes Wheel dealers and were US-manufactured, just like the originals. I don't know if Hayes might now have discontinued the wheel or shifted their manufacture off-shore, though.
You might want to contact a Hayes Wheel dealer. The Hayes part number for the wheel is 81982. The wheel is also still available from GM under the original part number (since 1973) of GM #327708. It's very expensive through GM, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
