Need 71 alternator and A/C commpressor

I am looking for the following:

Delco # 1100544 alternator for a 1971 Corvette. Date code must be between November 1970 and March 1971 (0K, 1A, 1B or 1C).

Frigidaire A-6 A/C Compressor # 5910778
Date coded between 01011 and 03311

Ralph,

The alternator will take you 5-10 years to find. Don't ask how I know this. In addition, ANY 544 alternator you find from August 70 through March 71 will be as good as you can get. They are very, very rare.

For the compressor, you're likely best off buying a new or rebuilt compressor, and then stamping the correct date code on a new label.

Like Pat said, the '544 alternator is a Corvette only part that's REALLY hard to find! The Flight Score Sheet splits the judging for the alternator into two line items: one for date and the other for the rest of the alternator. You'll find quite a few of us with cars having real McCoy '544 alternators on them but dated wrong for our cars and we probably spent as long as Pat did trying to find one to get as close to factory correct date as we did! I scrounged the parts field at Carlisle, the Fl regional and more than a few junk yards. I constantly checked Ebay. No luck. Then someone suggested I place an ad in the driveline. Within a few days of the ad appearing I got a call from a member who had a 544 alt with a good date (1C8) for my 71 at a very reasonable price......so it can happen. Keep looking and post an ad in the driveline, you never know.

Beware of restamps. Hard to find alternators and starters are being restamped. Comparing to original style is a very good way to verify the authenticity

I don't know, as I've never had to look for an 882.
