61 interior

i am restoring my 61 fawn beige/white. received a fawn beige dash and interior from al knoch and the dash does not perfectly match the color of the seats or door panels. can anyone tell me if that is acceptable for judging, or should i send the interior back to him and tell him to try again? thanks,

I can't tell you anything about judging considerations. However, I think that the chances that you're going to get a complete interior today in which every piece color-matches EXACTLY is very remote, if not impossible. As a matter of fact, for most interior colrs, except black, I doubt that the original pieces installed in the cars color-matched exactly. The colored interior pieces were usually manufactured by different sources. The chances that they could get the colors all exactly the same is remote, in my opinion. Even if some of the pieces were manufactured by the same supplier, I still doubt that they could have gotten all the pieces to match exactly. That's because the substrate materials were different. The coloration materials, even from the same batch, would not exactly match to the eye when used with different substrate materials.

in addition to this I would like to add that it is very likely that your original padding will be different after 40-50 years in comparisment to when it was new.
