    62 Seat Covers

I'm considering recovering the seats in my 62 myself and have a couple of questions. Are the videos sold by Corvette central and Al Knoch any help ? I redid some straight axle seats years ago and got so-so results and this time want a nice job. Are there any hints, tips , or secrets that make the videos worthwhile ? My other question concerns hog ring pliers , where can I get a good pair ? Thanks Rich

I did not use the videos so I cannot help you there, I did get a decent pair of hog-ring pliers from Eastwoods Products. They are on the net, sorry I don't have their number handy. The seat covers and install kit from Knoch worked out well for me.

Biggest challenge to getting seat covers 'right' is to make the underlying foundation RIGHT before you install. That means correcting sagging springs, replacing rusted/busted links, on cars that used burlap foundations between springs and seat foam -- get it/use it, and make sure you've got fresh foam to fill or 'plump' the cover fabric....
