What tires came on the 64 Corvettes and how do you identify them? Has anyone seen the 64 convertible listed in the Driveline in middle TN?

Re: 1964 Corvette tires
Rick,
In 1963 and 1964, you had the choice between the following manufactureres for both white wall and blackwall, tubeless, two-ply construction, four-ply rated, Rayon construction tires in the 6.70 x 15 inch size. Whitewall width was 1 inch.
B.F. Goodrich Silvertown
Firestone Deluxe Champion
General Jet Air
Goodyear Custom Super Cushion
U.S. Royal Safety 800
There was also the P91 option which were 6.70 x 15 inch blackwall Nylon tires, original brand names were B.F. Goodrich Lifesaver and Firestone 500.
These tires are fine for NCRS flight judging, but not too great for extended highway travel or rainy conditions. Since I drive my '64 to the NCRS judging meets, I went with an original manufacturer (General) and installed a set of 205/75-15 blackwall radials, since this is the only original manufacturer that is currently selling a blackwall radial in the correct size.
Hope this answers your question.
