    '64 Voltage Regulator - Location (A/C car)

Q: Where should the V. Regulator mount on my '64 Air car, build date Jan. 6, 1964?

Facts: 1) The new Tech Guide & Judging Manual (and Nolan Adam's Resto Guide) says it should mount to the driver's inner fender just behind the core support. 2) The core support on my car had been changed to an FI support, and the regulator was mounted on it, like '63 Air cars. 3) I have no reason to believe my driver's inner fender had ever been changed, and there are no holes in it where the regulator would have been mounted. 4) Of the 4 A/C '64s at Orlando, 3 had the regulator on the core support, with no holes in the inner fender (like mine). All of these cars were May or later (one being #20,004). The one that had the regulator mounted on the inner fender had been built on the last DAY of production.

So the question is, do I deviate from the Tech Guide or not?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob D.

The voltege reg. on you're air-car should be mounted on the left side (driver side)inner forward fender. The horn relay would be mounted infront of the volt. reg.on the left side of the radiator shroud. There should be pre-drilled holes for there position. The wireing harness should also help with the location. Good luck, Bob
