I need help, if any one can tell me how hard its going to be to replace these plates, ours are rusted and need to be replaced but I'm afraid to start project until I find removal procedure , that we might damage fiberglass

i believe you are talking about the rockers and the steel portion of the bird cage / It is a big job , and you should be advised if it has gone up the door hinge area it is a bigger problem, i did a set a couple years ago and it was only the rockers and the body was removed, the rockers can be bought used with the "a" and b posts or you can find nos for about 500 a side check out corvette faq on the web go into exterior and look there some one did post a bunch of pics of the ordeal, not excellent but may help . the job is easy if you are handy but a pro will make the job and car look excellent . sometimes it has gone too far. sorry to mention that point. check out the site.
