power cylinder control valve rebuild

My trip to Orlando produced a leaky control valve on my 78 SA with 30,000 miles. I wiped down for return trip but the valve repeated itself for the trip home. The return trip revealed indeed it was the control valve and not pump, cylinder or hoses.


What's been experience of those who have taken on the task to rebuild the valve as that is what I am assuming it requires?

Its a very simple on the car rebuild, if thats all you want to do. Just remove the lines from the end,and top, and the adjusting nut under the dust cap. Remove the two bolts that hold the valve part of the assembly on, and carefully remove the valve. Note very carefully the layout of all the internals and seals. Clean the parts and reassemble with new seal. The tricky part is holding all parts in place while reassembling the two halves and not pinching the large seal. The seal kits are only 10 bucks or so.
