been using Berkebile 2+2 rubberized undercoating for years, in spite of its final surface texture not being as coarse as that which the boys in st louis used. just tried a can of Kimball Midwest ultra rubberized undercoat, # 80-931. best i've tried yet in terms of coarse surface texture most closely approximating the factory undercoating. mike

Re: c-1 and c-2 undercoating products.
I would sagest that before you under coat your front fenders ( IF YOU DRIVE) a Corvette to buy a sheet 1/8 thick rubber and glue it to the under side of the fenders starting from the headlight to the back bulkhead first.
Then undercoat them . I've driven my 55 many years and never got STAR marks on top of my fenders.
You hardly know it's there but will protect your front fenders paint form throwing rocks.

rick:can't remember cost but think it's in line with your run of the mill NAPA undercoatings. some guy calls on me every month or so from the Kimball midwest co and he keeps the nuts and bolts drawers full and has just about anything you'd need in a garage.neatest tool i've gotten from him is a drill bit that drills and taps a hole simultaneously.he recently demonstrated a product that bonds copper tubing/fittings without heat/solder.think they have salesmen all over the country.hope ya find one locally. mike- Top
