all the c-1 and c-2 judging manuals ought to include a statement in the engine head section noting that the flint small block head, in the area of the powerpack pyramid or camel humps or whatever, should show evidence of having been broached, not sand cast like the tonowanda heads. A restorer at the recent orlando meet was unaware of this and i just got a call this am from a member who spent 1600 bucks for a pair of 461 heads that are sand cast on the ends. he's out 1600 frogskins. mike

i ran the broaching of the tonowanda heads by the unlucky buyer of the 1600$ heads and also noted the double digit cast date year hiding under the valve covers but feared posting such "counterfeit how to" info herein. regards, mikeComment
