    American Hotrod 63 Vette

I just noticed that tonight will be an episode of American Hotrod featuring a 63 Vette. Might be too painful to watch for the purists among us!

    Don,

I just checked "future airings" for that show and the episode #2 description, which will be aired in a few days, states that they turn the car into a hot rod/drag car. One less 63 S/W on the planet I guess.

I'm watching now...Don't worry, there's nothing Chevrolet, or Corvette about the car. All aftermarket chassis and handlaid fiberglass body. Its a Corvette in resemblance only.

Yeah, I felt a lot better about it once I saw they weren't using any orginal parts. Not sure what they are trying to accomplish. It sure won't be a corvette when their done. It will only a bear passing resemblence.

          Dumpster Divin.....

Before I watched the show last night and learned they were going to use a kit car instead of a real 63, I was about to call a friend that lives minutes away from the Hot Rod Shop in La Habra to see if I could get her to look throught their dumpster every few days for discarded 63 parts that would be scattered among the orange peels and half eaten bologna sandwiches. I'm sure she would have been more than willing to do this for such a worthy cause, right?

They tried to fit a real door on the body...

along with some glass and window trim. Not even close. All were off at least a half inch.
            Might check that dumpster again.
