It sounds like this may be the alternate 3863137 fan listed in the AIM. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "diamond" pattern, but the 3863137 fan drawing in the Noland Adams book shows what could be described as a rectangle with a rivet at each corner and one in the center. Does that describe what you have?

The 3789562 fan and the base fan both had two rivets at the bottom of the blade, then a row up the center of the blade with either two or three more rivets. I'm trying to determine whether some versions of the 3789562 fan ever had 5 rivets like the base fan does. My 3789562 has only 4 rivets.

Rivets in 'X' pattern

Joe - sorry, the rivets are in an 'X' pattern. Don't know where I got the diamond - - must have been dreaming on valentine's day.

Hi Dale:

The "spider" refers to the metal hub to which each blade is riveted. The shape could be characterized as similar to a spider (with 5 legs, in this case). I'm not sure where I picked up the term.
