Re: Yunk jard-junkie
Mike,
Did you ever see Floyd`s room full of Fuel units? He had a `53 #147 in pieces. I noticed that a #147 was at Carlisle last year. Same one? But, his rarest car was the `64 with a 409. Claimed it was original, only one built. We miss old Floyd. Where is that car carrier anyway, I need to go pick up a car?- Top

Re: Yunk jard-junkie
I had totally forgotten about the car carrier when I wrote the article about #5951. Had a lot of neat stuff and was going to fix a lot of it up according to him. I don't think that he ever got around to fixing much of anything in the later years (70's). Someone in the NE bought all the salvage when he passed away. Story goes that most of it was scrapped, VIN tags harvested, and the titles went North.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Yunk jard-junkie
That reminds me of Lanny's Corvette yard here in Northern Ca. before he sold it to sell life insurance . Me and seven guys from the first SACE Convention ( only seven showed up ) at the first one. I took them there and they went crazy, we drove down in my old Wally wagon I had and when we left the top luggage rack and every cranny was stuffed with greasy parts and fiberglass pieces . I don't think any one spent more then $50.00 for all the parts each got. Those were the days!! before Queens and kings.- Top
