60 park brake flange on firewall

The AIM seems to show the flange on the inside of the firewall. Mine sure looks like it was on the engine side. Inside?

A better description would aid a better reply. What are you calling the flange?Everything is inserted thru the firewall from the interior side. The washer and nut and clip are inserted from the engine side.

The flange is what they call it in the AIM. It threads onto the bottom of the parking brake shaft and is then attached to the firewall via a bolt, washer and lock washer. What is the "clip" you refer to?

            Larry--
My experience is that it goes on the passenger compartment side. That's what keeps it from being pulled through when the additional hardware is attached on the engine side.
