    C3 69 Kick Panel Paint

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me the brand of spray paint with correct gloss that I can use for my painting my C3 69 kick panels?

Also, is there any information on the amount of gloss used for different parts within the interior?

I did my 70 with dupont vinyl paint mixed to lt saddle. The dealer happens to have limited mix colorant.( no longer available) It came either flat, or low gloss. Had him do both. I used original pieces I had to try to duplicate the sheen. Best I can discribe it is not to flat, not to shinny, but more to the flat look. ( I know, not much help) Color was dead on. I can scratch it off though.

I also used RM years ago to change from lt saddle to 74 silver. That paint stuck like you can't believe! It was even difficult to remove with lacquer thinner.

Most of the venders sell it in spray version. Have no experience with it. Someone else can chime in there. Good luck.

On a sort of related topic. I'm wondering what pieces were made colored, and which were painted/ dyed? I know the rear compartment/ door frames were made colored. The pieces your refer to are painted. I have nos extra rear 1/4 trim panels that are a brownish plactic. Service replacement maybe?

interesting about the colored panels. When I worked in a GM dealership I painted all interior replacement parts. Later found out my parts manager would get a better price if he ordered it without being a specific color but he could order it in color when the car was reasonably new. After a certain date it would be any color that happened to be and I simply painted it to match. We even painted interior vinyl parts(everything except seats). Used RM 891 flex agent and suede concentrate to flatten the color.

In the "good old days" at Lordstown in 1969, I have to admit to painting kickpads and garnish moldings on sheets of cardboard in the aisle of the Trim Shop during '69 model buildout when we ran out of the correct molded-in-color parts; the guys from Paint Repair brought us spray cans of adhesion promoter and interior trim colors to use. They looked fine, but dunno how long they stayed that way
