I just changed the cover on my '72 LT-1. It had the spring and cover from a 78. I found many covers at Paragon. Some dated, some not. Many with different parts numbers. I found one with a good date code but a part number that didn't seem to match. An easy way to tell if your cover takes the 2.5" spring is to look at the bolts. If they are 7/16" it's 2.5" 77 on. If they are 9/16" is pre 77, 2.25"
