I have a wheel with the K-1 -1 1 14 AZ does that break down to a Jan 14 71 wheel? Do wheels fall into the six month time frame for dated parts?

Wheel codes well explained in Colvin's book
In your case: K = Kelsey-Hayes; 1 = plant (Romulus Mich.); 1 = last digit of year (1971).
As to the "14" followed by AZ, I assume these are to the opposite side of the air valve, than the K-1-1. The 14 should be the day of the month, but there should also be the month digit, stamped on the other side of the valve, following the K-1-1.- Top

Re: wheel date code
Lyndon,
As described in the 1970-72 TIM/JG, "Since a car is shown with trim rings or wheels covers installed on the road wheels, judging of wheel dates is possible only for the spare". I would imagine the 6 month rule would also apply to the spare. As for you recoding, it sounds accurate to me.
