I hope it is OK to ask this ? on this tech. forum. Does anyone have a current value on a 1960 corvette project car. Parked for 15-20 years outside. I am well aware of the stress and wear and tear mother nature can do on these cars outdoors. I have not viewed it yet. Pictures are on the way. The current owner bought it in 1966. 4th owner. Light blue in color(do we care). Wonderbar, 2 tops, supposedly unhit body. Missing grill. 6200 redline tach (270 HP?). Wrong motor and tranny. I do my own work on these cars. I did a 57 6 years ago. Any opinions on the actual current value on this car appreciated. Thanks! Dick Gutman

Re: 60 corvette project current value
Dick
Under Corvette pricing guide even requiring total restoration price is $25,000.
It depends on where your getting it as fare as weather condition in that state.
If your going NCRS your going to spend Biga Bucks.
If your going for a nice driver , you don't have to take a second on your house.
I just got a 60 vett for $23,000 all there but wrong engine (new 70 LT1) got a nice paint job $3.000 another $1,000 for various little parts.
Most people think it's restored and looks great, but no NCRS vett. I feel it could bring in the mid-$30,000 range . Not from a NCRS person , but I plan to keep it for a while.
I live in a small town , got my 67 painted for $2,000 two years ago and it looks like a $6,000 paint job or more. Many people don't believe it when they see it, because they hear of $10,000 paint jobs or have some one with a big name paint it and pay for it.
Some of the best painted vetts were done by owners and not a big dollor paint shop and restored by owner knowing nothing about a Corvette.
I had my 55 painted for $1,500.00 when people were pay $5,000 and up back then.
It can be done and done beautiful if you find the right no name no shop person.

Re: 60 corvette project current value
Dick,
If you can get the car cheap enough, and don't plan on NCRS flight judging, it should be financially Feasible. Make a great driver out of it! It will be fun restoring and cruising around with the lady friend. Bring it to a meet and go for the 'Sportsman' or 'Founders' awards! Here's my buddy's 59 he bought for $3,500.00 with no motor and correct three speed. It was hit so hard in driver's door he had to replace door, floor section, part of firewall and frame. He got a good 59 frame with front suspension for $2,000.00. All said and done, he will be in and out of this car with donor 327ci and 'at-home' paint job for $15,000.00 he caculated. Good Luck!

Re: 60 corvette project current value
This car is in the midwest near me. I got the pix today in the mail. Unfortunately, due to some type of tall bushes behind car, the rear of car is not in the pictures. Correction, this car according to owner was parked outside in running condition in 1974.(31 years??) It looks amazingly good besides all the tall grass and bushes. Pictures are deceving. Grill is gone. No engine compartment or interior pix. The hood has a scoop in it but looks like an original hood. The hardtop looks to have all its SS. Thanks for the replys!- Top
