Where DID those Horns come from?

I'm looking to buy a 455 and 456 horns for my 63. How can I identify a true corvette horn, or a passenger one made to look like the true thing?

The 63 Corvette horns are unique. They were not used on passengers cars. The large bell configuration of the horn is the same as passenger cars of that era, but the mounting brackets, which are welded to the horns, are different. It would be impossible to describe. Look at known originals, check where the numbers are stamped...both the model # and the date. Take a picture or two. Buy the horns from a known vendor. There are several that sell rebuilt, guaranteed horns. Be prepared to pay for restored 63 horns. Hope this helps. Chuck

I just bought a set of rebuilt 63 horns from Dennis Portka phone 716-649-0921. A phone call will prove educational, I'm sure dave
