    C1 acellerator lever ground strap...

Can somebody please tell me the size and type of screw/bolt that fastens the ground strap to the acellerator lever on a '59? Thanks again. Pat G.

    Not sure about a '59, but on a '57 I believe it's a zinc-plated pan head phillips thread-cutter.

"thread-cutter"? Is that the same as a "self-tapping" screw? Or a sheet metal screw?

Point of semantics, I guess - should have clarified it. When I say "thread-cutter", I mean the usual thread form (like sheet metal screws, trim screws, etc.), but the the threads are interrupted at the end with a "notch" (for lack of a better term) through the threads which makes the screw work somewhat like a tap, cutting its starting threads into the hole. I have a spare bagged on the wall from my '57 restoration, and that's what it looks like.
