    c2 AFB Date Code

I'm looking at a '63 3461S AFB carburetor with a date code of CC3. In checking the JG, it mentions an "alpha-numeric date code" and refers to a table showing just letters/months. Assuming the "3" represents 1963, what does "CC" represent?

Is it "Carter" / March / 1963 perhaps? Thanks!

    Pete

As per the article I did in the Restorer several years ago on 3269S AFB's---the first "C" indicates the third change from the original configuration, then the second "C" for March, and the 3 for 1963.
      Other examples J2 3461S (September 1962)

      AL2 3461S (first modification, November 1962)
      etc.

Pete I did not mean the 3rd shift but the 3rd week of March.

Mike, I did not read or see your article in the restorer but you believe that a carb date of CC3 breaks down as follows; C=third change C= March and the 3 =1963. There is a carb on ebay right now that has a date of BE3. Break down would be B=second change E=May and 3= 1963. How could the second follow the third! I still think the B=the second week of May. Your thoughts. Bob
