    But....

    Pat, the original post included a 'vauge' query on whether or not this was a 'hard' item to fix. Not knowing the individual's skills, wallet size, or individual definition of 'hard', I thought it appropriate to redirect the thread that'd not spoken to the issue and mention there WAS more data in the archives on the subject (can be done, requires, cutting glass, removing oxide, re-glass, sand, blast bottom of reinforcement plate, re-seal with zinc dichromate, sand nose, and re-paint -- is this a 'big deal/hard' job? To some YES, to others NO).

      When these Sharks left the factory, the nose was flat/smooth with no evidence of rivet 'bumps'. The term 'rust' refers to iron oxide and it's not 'rust' that's at work here. It's the aluminum rivets through the steel reinforcement bar that are oxidizing (aluminum oxide) and the surface residue is migrating to the top of the rivet heads causing the fiberglass to bow/pucker....
