Chevrolet learned a lot about cam design during the sixties once they figured out what was really happening at the valve at high revs. I've done considerable research in this area, but need lift-crank angle data for the '56 to '63 Duntov cam (3732097) and '64 to '65 (plus '67 to'69 302 Z-28) 30-30 cam (3849346). I have the data for the '70 and up LT-l. If anyone is looking for a Duntov or 30-30 there are "exact repros" available. The best time to take the data is on a stand during rebuild. All you need is one (preferably two) dial indicators, a good degree wheel, a couple of hours of your time, and it helps to have a helper to record data. If you have the data or are at a convenient point where you could take it, please e-mail me for more specifics. I think the story would make a good article for The Corvette Restorer. It would also demystify all the hype about cams and include some other vignettes like "the truth about rocker arm ratios".
