    First time judging (help)

I will be having my car judged for the first time in Orlando this month and am looking for any advice or last minute tips the pros here could offer! I am not exactly sure what to expect. How important is cleanliness because I do drive the car, but I havent had it that long. It's a 69 t-top 427 - 400 a/c 4-speed t/t. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance Damon 33315

Hello Damon, To answer your question cleanliness will only add up to a total of 2% of you score. I'll be looking forward to seeing your car in FL

You may want to spend some time cleaning the engine compartment, making especially sure that the numbers on the engine pad are easily visible and free of paint. An afternoon with a mild degreaser, soft brushes and rags can be very satisfying and educational. It's time well spent.

Damon, I,m glad you'r driving your car to the Orlando meet. Usually driven cars opporate well. What I'm trying to say is that the opperation part of the judging is really important. You can lose more points faster than anywhere else on the opps' test. Before you leave have a friend go through the opp's portion of your judging guide. Remember it's 25 points off for line items that don't work. By the way, what year is your car? See you there. Good luck! Bob

          Re: Sorry Bob

Bob, sorry to say I won't be driving my 69 to the show. I am a new owner and am leary of this new car. I have had it less than a month, and have stayed within a 30 mile radius of my house.A friend was nice enough to loan me his trailer. I'm not worried about the car as much as the idiots on the road!! still making payments!! Just ordered judging guide from NCRS, (hope it comes in time) See you at the show!! Damon 33315
