1984 Rear Axle Seal

After 270,000 miles it is time to do some work on my 1984 Z51. I was able to replace the rear axle bearing but I find the inner seal part number 5.822 14046941 Rear Axel Shaft Bearing or Hub seal is not available. I have tried the various suppliers and even GM Parts direct but no one seems to have the part or know of a replacement seal. It is 2 13/16 out side diameter. The seal is supposed to be used up to 1996? If anyone can guide me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

David, the listing that I have for a rear wheel grease seal for your car is C/R #21953 You should be able to go to your local NAPA, Carquest, etc and have them order it for you.

If you live in an area that has some manufacturing, you can also go to an industrial bearing store. They will very likely have the seal on the shelf, along with almost any bearing or seal you could want...all made by the original manufacturer and cheaper too. But, you have to order by the original manufacturer's number (C/R #21953)...car make and MY probably won't mean zip to them.
