the more inches you have the BIGGER your reputation in both cases.

The only substitue for inches or cubic inches, according to my late father, was cubic money. Cubic money will always out do cubic inches

I've always found it takes cubic money to get those cubic inches, wherever you need it. Hey, doesn't this new car look a bit like a Viper, at least from the rear photo I saw

                    Mark-----

Oh, I think that it will be faster than a Mustang Cobra. However, it's a moot point. I don't do any street racing and I never, ever take my car to the track. Most assuredly, I don't plan to be racing any Mustang Cobras, or ANY other cars for that matter.

I have some "gearhead" cousins in southern California that used to (and some still do) live in the Pomona area. They spent a lot of time on the drag strips at Pomona and Irwindale. In the "old days", they used to love to go out with me in my Chevelles and watch me powershift. They said that they never saw anyone that could powershift a car like me. That was a very high compliment to me since they were around a lot of drag racers and were drag racers themselves. However, the last powershift that I ever threw was in 1969. I've only been in 2 "street races" in my life, the last one being in 1967 (and, for which I was cited). I only did that one at the instigation of and for the benefit and enjoyment of a friend of mine (incidentally, who previously the original owner of a VERY early 1965 L-78) who was leaving for Viet Nam the following week (and, was killed there 2 weeks later).

I NEVER, EVER street raced again although, for a while, I did perform a fair number of "exhibitions of speed" (including the powershifts for my cousins). For the last 30 years, or so, though, "street racing" and "exhibitions of speed" have been beneath my dignity. For sure.

Yes, the new LS-7 has the same bore size as the old 400 small block, but with a 1/4" longer stroke.

Nope - don't think so - the Viper has a smaller "butt", but a bigger "bite"
