c3 power steering valve stone shield PN or source

I am looking for a part number or source for the sheet metal stone shield that hangs on the power steering control valve of later c3s.

If you can help, my email is magicv_8@hotmail.com

Vette Brakes installs them on all their rebuilt units. I'd contact them, but I would be surprised if they aren't in common vendor catalogs.

Actually, I have lookied in 7 vendor catalogs. All their rebuilt valves show them on the available assemblies, but alas no separate part.

        Dave-----

First of all, the part to which you refer is NOT a "stone shield", although just about everyone thinks that it is. It's actually a HOSE GUIDE BRACKET and was added in 1974 to PRODUCTION valves to ensure proper orientation of the p/s extend and retract hoses. Later, it was added to all SERVICE valves when the 76+ valves became the SERVICE valve for all 63+ applications.

The part number of the 74-75 bracket was GM #7817342 and the 76+ was GM #7819613. Both have been discontinued for YEARS and, while the latter one is still made and installed on new SERVICE valves, both GM and "reproduction", they're not available seperately, as far as I know. I mean, how many of these things do you suppose they'd sell as a seperate part? You can get one off of a valve core. I'm sure these cores come up for sale on eBay quite frequently. Just look at the picture to make sure it's got the bracket attached. Then, you can sell the rest of the valve to a rebuilder as a core. They don't care if it's got the bracket. The "63-73 guys" who are concerned about originality don't want the bracket, anyway.
